It is understood that women share many things. I share my ideas, a good workout and a good recipe openly. I will even share my favorite stores plus coupons to help a sister get a deal. But there’s one thing I am not willing to share; my man is off limits! As you get older and circles grow a little smaller, you can unintentionally recycle relationships. This is a big NO NO when it comes to being a good home girl. We have wrote out the rules to the unspoken pact of home girls everywhere:

Thou Shall Not Share the DRAWS Manifesto

1. Under no circumstance shall a sister friend intentionally date/mate an ex lover of a sister friend.

2. Real women are conscious of her sister friend’s feelings when it comes to men both from the past and present.

3. Women at our age understand the difference between friends and acquaintances.

4. Understand that the “Thou Shall Not Share the Draws” pact does not extend to mere acquaintances.

5. Understand that any woman you have talked on the phone, broke bread with at the dinner table, and have had some form of communication over a two year time period is more than a mere acquaintance. So the “Thou Shall Not Share the Draws” pact is in full effect.

6. Have healthy and open dialogues with your potential suitor to ensure you are not breaking the “Thou Shall Not Share the Draws” pact.

7. Be open and honest with yourself and your expectations.

8. If you are torn about a certain situation pray and be open.
